Experience

I have worked with individuals with concussions, TBIs, and various other disabilities as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. Additionally, I have experience working one on one with individuals who have learning disabilities and are neurodivergent. Often, acquired learning disabilities and brain injury can go hand in hand. I served on the State of Montana TBI Advisory Council from 2022-2024, which focuses on advising the Governor on issues, legislation, and prevention for TBIs. I also served as the TBI Prevention Committee Chair for the State of Montana. I currently volunteer as the Prayer Team Leader for Hope Survives, a faith-based TBI non-profit and community.

My own personal experience with TBIs has brought me to specialize in supporting individuals with brain injuries. I acquired a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) at the age of 7 due to a car accident. It wasn’t until adulthood that I discovered the extent of my injury. Over the course of 20 + years, I tried everything to work through various health issues that seemed unrelated in nature. Turns out, it can all be pointed back to my mTBI all those years ago. My brother acquired a TBI in the same accident when he was ejected from the vehicle. TBI care, struggles, and successes have been a part of my life since 2001. My personal and professional experience with brain injuries provides me with a unique perspective and empathetic understanding of what it means to live with a brain injury.
